The placement of a dental implant is carried out in several steps

Consultation and planning

During the first consultation, the dentist/implantologist will examine the patient’s mouth and take X-rays to assess suitability for an implant. A treatment plan will be developed, taking into account factors such as the health of the jawbone and the location of the missing tooth.

Placement of the implant

Under local anesthesia, the dentist makes a small incision in the gum to expose the jawbone. A hole is then drilled into the bone where the implant will be placed. After placing the implant, the gum is stitched, and the healing process begins.

Osseointegration

This is the process by which the jawbone grows around the implant and fuses with it, securing the implant in place. This process can take several months.

Placement of the abutment

Once osseointegration is complete, an impression is taken, and an abutment (a small connector) is screwed onto the implant. This serves as the base for the final crown or prosthesis.

Placement of the crown or prosthesis

Finally, a custom-made crown, bridge, or prosthesis is attached to the abutment, restoring both the aesthetics and function of the missing tooth.

I‘m very scared of the dentist because of bad experiences in my childhood, but everyone here is very nice and I really feel comfortable here! I got my wisdom teeth removed here, it went very well and I was really happy with how I was treated. I now come regularly for dental cleanings and the young woman who does them for me is sooo nice, I feel really comfortable with her and love coming to her!
